In other words you can not engage in an honest discussion of the product. People have been banned from both of those sites for making comments that are not favorable to RealFlight. As such both sites are loaded with company shills that immediately dispute and defend any negativity about the product.

But, one of the main reasons that I prefer RCU for discussions about KnifeEdge and RealFlight is the ability to speak openly and honestly about the product.īoth the KnifeEdge site and the "Groups" site are owned and run by Jim Bourke, General Manager of KnifeEdge Software. On top of adding these non R/C related "games" they actually removed the R/C related games/events from the program further deminishing it's R/C training abilities. They add no R/C training aid and give the wrong impression about what R/C is all about to any new comer. All of these new features would be banned at any AMA field. In this latest version they have removed all of the R/C "events" and replaced them with "first person" flying type "games" where you can enter the cockpit of an airplane and fire rockets, paint balls and bullets at objects and opponents. RealFlight, with each new upgrade, is leaning more towards a video game. To allow the G3.5 users to upgrade for $80 is an absolute steal!!!!!!!! It is still the best sim available, and I have flown them all.Īlthough I agree with you in general about the upgrade for G3.X owners, I think you'll get a lot of people disagreeing with you about "the best sim available". links to a search engine and the contact information are all on the page link I gave. The computer you currently have is likely strong enough to handle the sim. You will need around a $400 computer and a $100 graphics card. The horsepower needed to run RF G4.5 is not that demanding.

A HECK OF A LOT OF THE PROBLEMS WERE USERS UNWILLING TO FORWARD PORTS. KE while having some problems with G4-G4.5 was moving to new technology and voice chat turned out to be a bit more difficult than anticipated. You can get good user-2-user help in those forums and KE does monitor the discussions. all (YES ALL) the issues are covered in the Knife Edge Forums

RCU is not the place to discuss Real Flight.
